Welcome to Forty Acres Farm. We are Adrienne and Justin Spina!
We look forward to hosting your special occasion at our venue.
A little history about me, Adrienne... I was born in Brazil, and my parents adopted me when I was only 3 months old. So, I was raised here my whole life. Both sides of my parent's families were from Jonesborough, too! The land where the venue currently sits has been in my family since the 1800s. It worked as a farm, raising everything from Tennessee walking horses, to dairy and beef cattle and everything in between.
My grandfather was the previous owner who then left it to me. Not having any sons of his own, he always worried that the land would be sold and his legacy would be lost. What he didn't see coming was my plans..but then again, I didn't either.
Sadly, he passed away in December of 2020. About a year later, I started his farm back up with beef cattle. We started with 2 calves and worked up to 10. Then came our goats. The first home my grandparents ever lived in when they were married also sits on the property!
About 2 years ago, I had it renovated. We used it as a short-term rental for a bit and then switched over to using it as an Airbnb. We never realized how popular it would be! We have had so many wonderful guests so far. Guests of the venue will have the option in a package to use it as they would like. Whether it be for the bridesmaids or groomsmen to get ready before the big day or the couple to stay in the night of the wedding! It's a traditional farmhouse with a few modern touches.
Which brings me to the main attraction...our beautiful barn. When I first decided we would build a barn, it wasn't for a venue. It was more a space where we could come out and take care of the animals, host events for friends and family, and make memories together. After some conversations with my husband and lots of prayers, we decided why not share this area with everyone! The views are breathtaking.
One thing I wanted for this venue was for it to stand out from others. Do not get
me wrong, I love the traditional red barns, white barns, the rustic ones. For ours though, it needed to be different. I wanted something timeless, a little more modern, but still had some rustic features as well.
So, I went with a matte black barn with white stone accents, as well as some wood. When you drive up and see the black barn... it is priceless. Especially when you see it in a big open field with miles and miles of land in all directions. Inside the barn are tongue and groove natural wood ceilings, wood accents all around, and black fixtures.
We are so excited and look forward to meeting and helping people plan their events and make memories here for years and years to come. Welcome!
Justin and I met in college. Years later, we would have never imagined our paths would cross again! In 2014, he asked me to be his girlfriend and the rest was history.
My son Hayden and I were about to expand our family of just us 2 to 3, because in July of 2017, Justin and I got married.
Later in December, we welcomed my 2nd child Andrew. Hayden is 12 and Andrew is 5. We also have several fur babies! 2 dogs, Zev and Zola, 1 fish, 9 beef cattle, 1 highland cow named Newman, and 4 goats (Fred, Mable, Jax, and Izzy!)
We love spending time at the farm, going to concerts, Saturdays in the fall at Neyland with our friends, and family beach trips every summer.
